QA - Manual Test Engineer

Role Overview
As a QA - Manual Test Engineer at Aerchain, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our B2B SaaS software products. This position requires 3 to 5 years of professional experience in manual testing, preferably in a B2B SaaS environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software testing concepts, test planning, defect tracking, and quality assurance best practices. Familiarity with databases, SQL, and agile methodologies is essential. While the focus is on manual testing, knowledge of automation tools and frameworks is a plus for identifying areas of improvement and future automation potential.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manual Testing: Design, develop, and execute manual test cases to ensure the functionality and quality of software products across web and API layers.
  • Test Planning: Collaborate with product and development teams to create comprehensive test plans and strategies based on project requirements.
  • Defect Tracking: Identify, document, and track defects to closure, ensuring effective communication with developers for resolution.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and stakeholders, to ensure alignment on quality objectives and deliverables.
  • Regression Testing: Perform thorough regression testing to validate that new features or changes do not affect existing functionality.
  • Exploratory Testing: Conduct exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and ensure a robust product.
  • Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends, tools, and best practices in manual testing to enhance testing processes.
  • Reporting: Provide clear and concise test results, defect metrics, and overall QA progress to relevant stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in manual testing of web applications and APIs, with a focus on identifying and documenting edge cases.
  • Strong understanding of software testing concepts, including black-box, white-box, functional, regression, and exploratory testing.
  • Proficient in writing SQL queries to validate and test data in relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL).
  • Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of automation tools or frameworks like Cypress is a plus (for identifying potential areas for automation).
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git.
  • Understanding of agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
